Gate information
Before you move Amex MR points
Who can board
Cards that earn Membership Rewards points: Cobalt, Green, Gold Rewards, Platinum, The American Express Card, Business Edge, Business Gold and Business Platinum. SimplyCash and the Aeroplan and Marriott Bonvoy co-brand cards earn other currencies.
Know before you go
Transfers are final and only go to an account in your own name.
Link the partner account in the Amex portal first; a new link can take up to 5 business days to verify.
Avion Elite members (RBC Avion Visa cards, personal and business) can convert to all four airlines. Avion Premium members (other RBC cards such as ION and ION+, or RBC bank accounts) can convert to WestJet only.
Know before you go
Conversions are final and the airline account must be in the same name.
Any Hilton Honors member, online through the Points to miles tool in your Hilton account. Both accounts must be in the same name.
Know before you go
Hilton doesn't publish its airline list or ratios: the chart is only inside your signed-in account. The Aeroplan rate below is from Aeroplan's own page.
Hilton says to allow up to 60 days, and an exchange can't be reversed.
Any World of Hyatt member, online on Hyatt's points-to-miles page or by phone.
Know before you go
Hyatt's usual rate is 2.5 : 1 (5,000 points for 2,000 miles), with a 5,000-point minimum. Listed here are the airlines with a confirmed rate; check Hyatt's page before counting on any other.
Aeroplan has been 2 : 1 since the Aeroplan and World of Hyatt partnership of July 2026.
Every program that lands in Aeroplan, best rate first. Tap one to see its departures.
FromRate1,000 points becomeArrivesRemarks
1,000 points aren't worth the same everywhere. Hotel points cost less to earn, so 3 : 1 can still be a fair deal.
The Avios family
One currency, seven airlines
British Airways Club is the hub of the Avios family. Amex and RBC send Avios there, and from there they move 1 : 1, free and instantly, to Qatar Airways, Iberia, Finnair, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Loganair.

01Moves go both ways, between accounts with the same name, email and date of birth.
02The sending account (British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus or Vueling) has to be at least 30 days old.
03Up to 999,999 Avios per move. Members below the top tiers can move up to 1,000,000 Avios into each program in any 12 months.
04Linking is close to permanent: avios.com says linked accounts can't be unlinked. Qatar is the exception, and it only links with British Airways.
05Finnair Plus links with British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling, but not with Qatar or Loganair.
Marriott Bonvoy is the bridge to airlines no Canadian bank partners with. Amex Membership Rewards moves to Bonvoy at 1 : 1.2, and Bonvoy moves on to 37 airlines at 3 : 1. At about two Amex points per mile it costs more than a direct transfer, so it is a route for one specific award, not a habit.
01Move 60,000 Bonvoy points at a time. Most airlines are 3 : 1 plus 5,000 extra miles per 60,000, so 60,000 points become 25,000 miles. United adds 10,000 instead; American, Avianca LifeMiles and Delta add none.
02From Amex, 50,000 Membership Rewards points become 60,000 Bonvoy points, then 25,000 miles: 2 Amex points per mile, against 1 : 1 to Aeroplan or British Airways directly.
03You can move 3,000 to 240,000 Bonvoy points a day. Miles usually post within a week, and a transfer can't be changed or reversed once it's ordered.
04You need an account with the airline, usually in the same name as your Bonvoy account.
Useful points, but they're spent inside their own program.
TD RewardsRedeemed through Expedia For TD, on Amazon or as a statement credit. TD's Aeroplan cards earn Aeroplan points directly.
CIBC AventuraRedeemed through the CIBC Rewards Centre, including its airline rewards chart. Only Aventura accounts opened before October 1, 2013 can still convert to Aeroplan.
BMO RewardsPoints pay for travel booked on the card. BMO's terms say they can't be transferred.
Scene+Scene+ Travel, points against travel bought on your Scotiabank card, groceries and more, at a fixed value.
National Bank À la carteCredit toward flights, cruises and packages, the À la carte Travel agency, and gift cards.
MBNA RewardsFlights and other travel, cash back, gift cards and merchandise.
Desjardins BONUSDOLLARSCard purchases in travel and a few other categories, gift cards and financial products.
AeroplanNo transfers to other airlines. Members with Aeroplan Elite Status can move points to Marriott Bonvoy (1 : 1) or World of Hyatt (2 : 1).
Before you transfer
Four things to check
01
Find the award first
Transfers are final. Find the seat you want, then move only what you need.
02
The names must match
The name on both accounts has to be the same, or the points can bounce or stall.
03
Allow for the wait
Amex can post in 30 minutes. Hilton says up to 60 days. Seats can go in between.
04
Check for a bonus
Bonuses of 15% to 40% come around often. See what's live before you move. Transfer bonuses
