jayflyer.com (“jayflyer”, “we”) is run by Jason Lee, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada, trading as Jason Lee Studio. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you join as a member, the member and payment sections apply to you too.
Our content
Everything on jayflyer is general information about points, miles, credit cards and travel. It isn’t financial, tax or legal advice. Offers, prices and program rules change often, sometimes overnight, so check the details with the bank, airline or hotel before you apply or book. Some links earn us a commission; our disclaimer explains how.
The articles, photos and design are ours. You’re welcome to quote a few lines with a link back to the page; please don’t copy whole posts or photos.
Member accounts
- You need to be 16 or older, and one account is for one person.
- Use an email address you can read, and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- Your handle is permanent once chosen. It can’t pretend to be jayflyer staff, a bank, airline, hotel or other brand, or another person, and it can’t be rude. We fix genuine typos on request.
- Economy is free. You can delete your account at any time from the account page.
Paid seats and billing
- Premium Economy, Business and First are monthly subscriptions sold by Jason Lee Studio. Prices are on the plans page, in Canadian dollars, plus the sales tax for where you live (GST, HST or QST in Canada).
- You’re charged when you join, then every month on the same date until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe, and Stripe emails a receipt each time.
- An upgrade starts right away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the month. A downgrade starts at your next renewal.
- If a payment fails, we’ll email you and try again for about a week. If it still doesn’t go through, your account moves to Economy.
- If we change the price of your seat, we’ll email you at least 30 days before your first charge at the new price, and you can cancel before then.
- Promo codes are for one subscription each, have no cash value and can’t be combined.
Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time from the account page, in a couple of clicks and with no fee.
- Cancelling stops the next charge. Your seat stays on until the end of the month you’ve paid for, then your account moves to Economy. Your account, posts and comments stay.
- We don’t refund a month that has already been charged; you keep your seat to the end of it. A duplicate or wrong charge is always refunded in full. Nothing here takes away a refund the law gives you.
- Deleting your account ends a paid seat straight away, and the current month isn’t refunded.
Charter 25
The first 25 members to pay for a seat get a Charter number, in the order their first payment went through. A free promo month doesn’t count. A Charter member keeps the price they joined at for as long as they stay subscribed; if they come back within 30 days of leaving, they keep it. The number belongs to that member forever and is never given to anyone else. The badge shows while they’re subscribed.
What paid seats include
Each seat’s features are listed on the plans page. We’ll keep improving them. If we ever remove a main feature of your seat, we’ll tell you first, and you can cancel.
Members-only posts and playbooks are for your own use. Don’t copy, share or sell them outside jayflyer. Sharing them can get an account closed without a refund.
Community rules
These apply to posts, comments and handles:
- Be decent. No harassment, hate, threats or personal attacks.
- Share what you’ve done or seen yourself, and say so when something is second-hand.
- No spam, and no referral or affiliate links of your own. Business and First members can add referral codes through the referral rotation, under its rules.
- Nothing illegal, including card cash-out schemes, selling accounts or points where that’s banned, or fraud of any kind.
- Don’t post anyone’s personal information, including your own card or booking numbers.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else.
We can edit out personal information, hide or remove posts, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Serious or repeated breaches end an account without a refund.
Your posts and comments
What you write stays yours. By posting it, you let jayflyer show it on the site and use it in our emails and social posts about the site, for free, worldwide, for as long as it’s up. When you delete your account, you choose whether your posts and comments are deleted or stay up as “former member”. Replies from other members stay either way.
Other sites
We link to banks, airlines, hotels and booking sites. We don’t control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
Limits on our responsibility
We work hard to get the facts right, but the site is provided as it is, and we can’t promise it’s always error-free or available. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses from using the site or relying on its content, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
If we close jayflyer memberships
If we ever stop offering paid seats, we’ll give you notice by email and refund the unused part of your current month.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we update the date at the top. If a change matters for members, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live in another province, you keep any consumer rights your own province gives you.
