- Until November 21, 2026, Hilton adds 120% more points when you buy them.
- The minimum is 5,000 points, and you can buy up to 240,000 a year before the bonus.
- In my cart, 100,000 points plus the 120,000 bonus came to US$1,000, about 0.45 US cents per point (0.64 Canadian cents) before GST/HST.
- Every Hilton sale from January 2025 to September 2026 stopped at 100%, so this is the best one in that time.
Hilton's latest buy points sale is the biggest I've seen from them: 120% more points until November 21, 2026. Every Hilton sale in the almost two years before this one stopped at 100%.
I'm Hilton Diamond, so these emails show up every few weeks. This time I put 100,000 points in my cart to check the price: US$1,000 for 220,000 points, before tax.

What a point costs
That's 0.45 US cents per point, or about 0.64 Canadian cents at the October 16 exchange rate. Without the bonus, Hilton charges 1 US cent a point.
Then add tax. With Ontario's 13% HST, it comes to about 0.51 US cents (0.73 Canadian cents) a point. Hilton charges in US dollars, so a foreign transaction fee applies too unless your card waives it.
Is it a good sale?
Yes, by Hilton's standards.
At 100%, the same US$1,000 gets you 200,000 points, so 0.5 US cents each. This sale is about 9% cheaper than that.
Hilton also has a sale on most of the year, usually for six or seven weeks at a time. At 100% I'd say there's no hurry. At 120%, this is the one to use if you were going to buy anyway.
When buying makes sense
Hilton prices awards by date, so start with the night you want. Multiply its points price by 0.45 cents and compare that with the cash rate.
A night priced at 60,000 points would cost about US$273 in bought points, plus tax. If the room is US$400 in cash, buying wins. If it's US$200, just pay cash.
How to buy
- Sign in at Hilton.com and open the buy points page.
- Choose 5,000 points or more. The 120% bonus shows in the cart.
- Pay in US dollars. GST/HST is added for Canadian residents.
Bought points don't count toward status, and purchases are final.
Can you transfer instead?
Amex Membership Rewards points transfer to Hilton at 1:1, in up to five days.
I wouldn't do it, though.
One Amex point becomes one Hilton point, which this sale sells for 0.64 Canadian cents. The same Amex point goes to Aeroplan at 1:1, and I value Aeroplan points at about 2 cents per point (cpp). My transfer partners page has every route.

Final Thoughts
120% is the best Hilton sale I've tracked.
It's still only a deal if you have a stay in mind.
I wouldn't stock up just in case. Hilton will have another sale soon enough, at 100% if not 120%. If you're staying at Hilton this fall anyway, my Hilton promotions post covers the bonus points on stays.
Have you ever bought Hilton points? Let me know in the comments what you used them for.
