I'd look at this card if your business buys regularly from Blue Rewards partners or books travel through Blue Rewards Travel, and you want no annual fee. Those purchases earn 10 points per dollar, about 6.7% back at BMO's in-store rate, on up to $15,000 a year, and gas and EV charging earn 2x.
Everywhere else it is a weak earner. The 1-point base is about 0.67% back, which trails the 0.75% on BMO's own no-fee CashBack Business Mastercard, and the card carries no travel insurance. From what I can tell, it makes sense as a second card for partner and fuel spend rather than the one card a business runs everything through.
Welcome offer
BMO is offering 30,000 Bonus Points when you spend $3,000 in net purchases within the first 110 days, for applications received between June 2, 2026 and June 2, 2027, verified on the BMO page on October 15, 2026. At BMO's in-store and eGift Card rate of 1,500 points per $10, about 0.67 cents per point (cpp), that is roughly $200.
The points arrive within about 8 weeks of meeting the spend and can be cancelled if the card is closed within 365 days. Existing BMO cardholders who switch into this card, and past holders who reopen it, are not eligible.
$3,000 in 110 days is under $900 a month, which most small businesses reach with fuel, phone and supplier bills. Add employee cards early so their purchases count toward the target.
Fees & eligibility
There is no annual fee, and you can add up to 22 employee cards with spending limits. BMO's Blue Rewards Business pages do not state an employee card fee, and its business card FAQ says fees may apply, so confirm before adding cards. No minimum income is printed on the product page.
Purchase interest is 20.99% and cash advances, including balance transfers, are 23.99%. The owners and the business are jointly liable for the debt, and the card is for business use only. BMO's business pages do not print the foreign currency conversion fee or the grace period length; check bmo.com/yourbiz for current terms.
Earning rewards
The card earns 10 Blue Points per dollar at participating Blue Rewards Partners, such as Pharmasave and Global Pet Foods, and on flights, hotels and car rentals booked through Blue Rewards Travel, powered by Expedia. That rate covers the first $15,000 of partner purchases each calendar year.
Gas and EV charging in Canada earn 2 points per dollar on the first $1,000 each statement cycle, and everything else earns 1 point per dollar. Scanning your Blue Rewards member card at checkout adds partner points on top of the card's points.
Redeeming rewards
Blue Rewards replaced AIR MILES, and its anchor value is 1,500 points = $10 when redeemed in store at participating partners or for eGift Cards from more than 400 brands, about 0.67 cpp. At that rate the 10x partner earn is about 6.7% back, the 2x gas rate about 1.3% and the base about 0.67%.
Blue Rewards Travel (powered by Expedia) lets you pay for a whole trip with points, including taxes and fees, or apply any amount and pay the rest with the card, excluding cruises and pay-at-property fees. BMO does not print a fixed travel value, and other redemptions have their own rates at bluerewards.ca/value.
Perks & benefits
Perks are the standard BMO business set. You can issue up to 22 employee cards with card limits, and BMO's Waiver of Liability Program covers the business against employee card misuse up to $50,000 per cardholder.
Partner offers include Mastercard Easy Savings rebates of 1% to 25% at qualifying merchants, 30% off H&R Block tax filing, up to 35% off prepaid Avis and Budget rentals, three months of Instacart+ with a $5 monthly credit, and Cirque du Soleil discounts. There is no lounge access and no roadside assistance.
Insurance
Insurance is limited to purchases. New items bought with the card are covered against theft or damage for 90 days, and the original manufacturer's warranty is extended by up to one year, to a $60,000 lifetime maximum per account across both coverages. The coverage is secondary to any other insurance you hold.
There is no travel insurance: no emergency medical, trip cancellation, rental car, baggage or flight delay coverage. If you or your employees travel for work, that cover has to come from another card or a separate policy.
My take
I'd get this card as a no-fee second card for a business that spends with Blue Rewards partners or on fuel; I'd skip it as a main card, since the 1-point base and missing travel insurance leave little elsewhere.
With no annual fee, the 10x partner rate is free value: $15,000 of partner spend a year earns 150,000 points, about $1,000 in store. Add 2x on the first $1,000 of fuel each cycle and the welcome bonus, and it earns its place in a wallet.
I'd keep it to that role, though. For general spend, the 0.67% base is lower than BMO's own no-fee CashBack Business, and there is nothing here for travel. A business that wants lounge passes and insurance should look at the World Elite version at $175.
The good
- No annual fee
- 10x at Blue Rewards partners and on Blue Rewards Travel
- Up to 22 employee cards with misuse protection
The catch
- 1-point base, about 0.67% back
- No travel insurance
- Partner bonus capped at $15,000 a year
