The Rogers Red Mastercard is the entry card in the Rogers Bank lineup, and I'd only look at it if you already pay Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave a monthly bill. With one of those services it earns 2% back on everything with no annual fee; without one, it drops to 1%, which is below most no-fee cards.

The limit is what I'd watch. The 2% only applies to the first $16,000 of spending each year, there is no insurance at all, and the card charges a 2.5% foreign transaction fee. From November 18, 2026, Rogers bills paid online earn 5%, which helps, but the 1.5x Rogers redemption bonus goes away the same day.

The bonus

Welcome offer

There is no welcome bonus on the Rogers Red Mastercard right now. The product page leads with the earn rate and Roam Like Home days rather than a sign-up offer, as of October 13, 2026.

The hero line, "Up to 3% cash back value", is not a bonus either. It is the 2% earn rate for Rogers customers redeemed through the 1.5x Rogers redemption bonus, which ends on November 17, 2026.

Insider tip

With nothing to chase up front, the value is in ongoing earning. Check that your Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave account links to the card, since that link is what lifts the rate from 1% to 2%.

What it costs

Fees & eligibility

The card has a $0 annual fee, and up to nine authorized users are free. There is no published income requirement; approval is subject to credit assessment and income verification. Rogers Bank allows only one of its credit cards per person.

Purchases carry 21.99% interest and cash advances, cash-like transactions and balance transfers 22.99%, or 25.99% and 27.99% if you are approved at Rogers Bank's alternate rates (outside Quebec). Missing two payments in 12 months can move standard rates up to the alternate ones. Foreign currency purchases cost 2.5% on top of the Mastercard rate.

Earning rewards

With at least one eligible Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave consumer service in good standing, you earn 2% cash back on eligible purchases. Without one, you earn 2% on purchases made in U.S. dollars and 1% on everything else. Eligible services include postpaid Rogers or Fido mobile plans and Rogers, Shaw, Fido or Comwave internet, TV, home phone, home monitoring or satellite plans; business and co-branded plans don't count.

The accelerated rates stop after the first $16,000 of spending in each account year, which caps the 2% at $320 a year; after that, everything earns 1% until your account anniversary. From November 18, 2026, eligible Rogers purchases earn 5% within the same cap: bill payments to Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave (not in store), online purchases from Rogers or Fido, TSC, direct Sportsnet+, CityTV+ or Discovery+ subscriptions, and the Jays Shop at Rogers Centre.

The $16,000 annual limit is shared by every accelerated rate and resets on your account anniversary (or product-switch anniversary). U.S. dollar purchases still carry the 2.5% foreign transaction fee, so the 2% earn does not cover it. Rogers Bank says it can take up to 7 business days for a newly linked Rogers service to show up in your earn rate.
Getting value out

Redeeming rewards

Cash back is held as points worth 1 cent per point (cpp). You can redeem in online banking or the Rogers Bank app against eligible purchases posted in the last 90 days, with a $10 minimum, or ask by December 1 for an annual statement credit that posts the following January.

Until November 17, 2026, redeeming in the app against eligible Rogers purchases is worth 1.5x, so 10,000 points cover a $150 Rogers bill. From November 18, every redemption is 1 cpp, even against transactions posted before the change. Rewards do not expire while the account is open.

Beyond the points

Perks & benefits

The headline perk is 5 Roam Like Home days a year (up to $90 in value) for an eligible Rogers postpaid mobile plan, used first come, first served by any number on the account. From January 12, 2027, the days are replaced by a $25 annual roaming credit, usable on Travel Passes or Roam Like Home daily roaming, and any unused days are removed.

Beyond that, you get free authorized users, Equal Payment Plans that split large purchases into 6 to 48 monthly payments, and an upgrade offer to the Rogers Red World Mastercard once you spend more than $15,000 a year. There is no lounge access and no foreign fee waiver.

My take

I'd get this card if you're a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave customer who spends under about $16,000 a year on a card; if you're not a Rogers customer, I'd skip it.

For a Rogers household with modest spending, 2% back on everything at $0 is a good deal, and 5% on Rogers bills paid online from November 18 makes the card pay for part of your phone or internet bill. The Roam Like Home days are a nice extra while they last.

What holds it back for me is the $16,000 cap, the lack of any insurance and the 2.5% FX fee. If you qualify for the Rogers Red World Elite, I think it is the better version: the same $0 fee, a $61,000 cap, 3% on U.S. dollar purchases and real insurance, though it asks for $80,000 in personal income. Without a Rogers service, 1% is not worth carrying.

The good
  • 2% on everything for Rogers customers, with no fee
  • 5% on Rogers bills paid online from November 18, 2026
  • Roam Like Home days, then a $25 roaming credit
The catch
  • 2% stops after $16,000 a year; only 1% for non-customers
  • No insurance of any kind
  • No welcome bonus and a 2.5% FX fee
