- Primary holders of Canadian Aeroplan credit cards get 15% off the points on Air Canada flight rewards, booked by January 11, 2027.
- Travel can be any time until December 31, 2027.
- The discount applies per direction, and only when that whole direction is flown by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express.
- It comes off the base fare only, not taxes and fees, and can't be combined with other offers.
Aeroplan is giving primary cardholders 15% off Air Canada flight rewards booked by January 11, 2027. I got the email on September 10 as a TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite cardholder, and the travel window runs all the way to the end of 2027.
The fine print decides which trips it actually helps.

Who gets it
The terms say primary cardholders of Canadian Aeroplan credit cards. Air Canada's card page lists three issuers: TD, American Express and CIBC.
Additional cardholders on someone else's account aren't named as eligible. You also need to be signed in to your Aeroplan account when you book, and have enough points in the account (or your pool) to cover the booking.
Which flights qualify
This is the part to read twice.
The discount works per direction. Each direction qualifies only if every flight in it is operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express, so a partner airline anywhere in that direction means no discount for it.
My last Aeroplan award to Seoul, in January 2025, flew Air Canada to Tokyo Narita and Asiana from there to Seoul. Under these terms, that direction wouldn't have qualified, while Air Canada's nonstop to Seoul would.
On a round trip, one direction can get 15% off while the other doesn't. It all comes down to who operates the flights.
What the 15% comes off
The 15% only touches one part of the price:
- Base fare points: 15% off
- Taxes, fees and carrier charges: no discount
- Add-ons like travel insurance: no discount
It can't be combined with other offers. Aeroplan cardholders already get "preferred pricing" on some Air Canada rewards, and the terms don't say whether the 15% stacks on top of it or replaces it.
If you change or cancel later, the usual Aeroplan flight reward rules apply. You need to still be a cardholder at the time of the change to keep the discount.
Past Aeroplan flight reward sales
Aeroplan has run sales on Air Canada flight rewards before, but this is the first one I've seen for cardholders only. These come from Aeroplan's own emails.
| Booking window | Offer | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Sep 10, 2026 to Jan 11, 2027 | 15% off, travel to Dec 31, 2027 | Primary Aeroplan cardholders |
| Book by Aug 18, 2026 | Up to 25% off, travel Sep 8, 2026 to Jun 30, 2027 | All members |
| Book by Jan 30, 2026 | Up to 25% off | All members |
| Book by Feb 23, 2025 | Up to 25% off | All members |
| Sep 15 to 29, 2023 | Up to 25% off, Canada to Canada, U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean | All members |
| Oct 26 to 27, 2021 | Up to 15% off, sun destinations | All members |
The "up to 25%" sales varied by route and date, so many flights got less. A flat 15% with a booking window of four months is more useful than it sounds.
Is it worth it?
If you hold an Aeroplan card and you're flying Air Canada anyway, yes. It's 15% off the points side, with over a year to travel.
Just don't let it push you onto a worse routing. Partner flights often price lower in the first place, so compare the final number, not the discount.
Are you booking anything with the 15%? Let me know in the comments where you're going.
