Check your AMEX account as two new offers have been added today.
While nothing jaw-dropping, these offers are fairly general and easy for anyone to make use of.
Get 10% back on Expedia.ca/amex Purchases
This is a pretty decent offer for anyone planning their upcoming vacation.
You’ll get back 10% in statement credits for your purchases on Expedia, up to $100 in total credits. (a maximum $1,000 in total purchase).
The good thing is that it’s not a one-time purchase offer, meaning multiple bookings up to cumulative of $1,000 in Expedia purchases will count towards this offer.
Until 03/09/2024 each time you make a qualifying purchase of a prepaid hotel booking online at www.expedia.ca/amex you can get a statement credit equivalent to 10% of the total purchase transaction after taxes and applicable fees, charged to your registered Card during the offer period and subsequently posted to your account, up to a maximum of $100 (CAD) in statement credits.
Only purchases made using the pre-paid “Pay Now” option at checkout are eligible.
Excludes cruises, vacation packages, flights, car rental and activities, trip insurance and other third party brands
However, there are few points to take note:
1. Bookings must be made from the specified link: https://expedia.ca/amex
2. Purchases must be made and paid by Sep 03, 2024.
This means your travel can happen later, but the booking and payment must be done by this date.
3. Purchases must be pre-paid using the “Pay Now” button.
This just means you must pay upfront during your booking on Expedia. Fully refundable rates also have a “Pay Now” option, so this isn’t too much of a big deal.
4. Cruises, vacation packages, flights or car rental and activities are not eligible.
So the offer is pretty much good for hotel bookings only.
As of now, it is unknown whether we can stack this with Rakuten cashback, so if anyone has a datapoint, please share in the comments below 🙂
Offer also available for Scotiabank Amex Cardholders
Scotiabank Amex cardholders are also eligible for this offer, so be sure to register sooner rather than later if you have trips coming up.
$10-$20 off $100 on Lululemon purchases
A great offer for someone looking to get a new pair of leggings, ABC Pants, or some tennis outfit.
Offer valid for purchases made on the lululemon mobile application or online only at https://shop.lululemon.com/en-ca/, valid only on orders paid for in CAD and shipped within Canada.
Excludes retail stores, showroom, outlet purchases, orders made by phone, and gift card purchases. lululemon like new and purchases of lululemon studio are also excluded.
Only the first 60,000 cards to be successfully registered are eligible for the offer. Offer is non-transferable. You can earn a maximum of $20 CAD in statement credit/s per registered Card during the offer period.
There are three versions of this offer depending on your card type:
- $10 off on $100 (Amex Simply Cash, Cobalt)
- $20 off on $100 (Amex Bonvoy, Gold)
- $50 off on $200 (Amex Platinum)
The offer is quite straightforward, you just need to make a cumulative purchase of required amount from online/mobile app to receive statement credit.
Don’t forget to shop through Aeroplan eStore portal to earn some extra Aeroplan points. (5 points per $1 at the time of writing this article)
Previously, buying a PHYSICAL GIFT CARD online counted towards the offer, so if you don’t have an immediate shopping plan, consider that option as well.
Unfortunately this offer is not available for Scotiabank Amex cardholders.
Final Thoughts
Amex Canada just launched two Amex offers for the summer, 10% credit back on Expedia purchases and $20 back on Lululemon purchases.
While these offers are decent and easy for anyone to take advantage of, I find them quite lukewarm.
Hopefully, we’ll see some better offers as the summer progresses.
