- RBC's last Avios bonus gave 13 Avios for every 10 Avion points (30% more) from May 11 to June 19, 2026.
- Only Avion Elite members can convert to British Airways, with a 10,000-point minimum.
- Conversions can take up to four weeks and can't be reversed.
- RBC has run the 30% bonus three times since 2025, about every six months.
RBC sometimes adds a 30% bonus on Avion points converted to British Airways Avios. The last one ran from May 11 to June 19, 2026, and turned 10,000 Avion points into 13,000 Avios.
It's RBC's biggest regular transfer bonus, and the one that comes back most often. Avios can then move between British Airways and the other Avios programs, like Qatar Airways and Iberia, for free.

Who can convert
Only Avion Elite members can convert to British Airways. You're Elite if you hold at least one of RBC's Elite cards:
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite
- RBC® Avion® Visa Platinum‡
- RBC® Avion® Visa Infinite Privilege‡ (including the Private Banking version)
- RBC® Avion® Visa Infinite Business‡, RBC Royal Bank Visa Business Platinum Avion and RBC Commercial Avion Visa
Avion Premium members can only convert to WestJet. The RBC® British Airways Visa Infinite‡ is a different card: it earns Avios directly, not Avion points.
How to convert
You convert in the Avion Rewards site under "Convert points", with no registration needed. The British Airways Club account has to be in the same name as your Avion account.
Give it time. RBC says up to four weeks for the points to convert and the Avios to show up, and a conversion can't be reversed.

RBC has run it in late spring and again in the fall most years, usually for about six weeks. The only bigger one was 50% in late 2019.
Is it worth it?
If you use Avios, 30% is the bonus to wait for. It comes back about twice a year, so converting at 1:1 in between only makes sense if you need the Avios now.
