This is the RBC card I'd point a small-business owner to if they want Avion points and actually travel. It earns 1.25 points per dollar on every purchase up to $75,000 a year, and it unlocks something RBC's personal Avion Visa Infinite does not: business and first class flights booked through Avion Rewards at 2 cents per point.
What I like most is how the eligibility works. You can qualify on personal income, but also on $500,000 in business revenue or $30,000 a year in card spending, which suits owners who pay themselves modestly. The weak spots are the 1x rate after $75,000, no foreign transaction fee waiver, and a lounge benefit that turns out to be pay-per-visit.
Welcome offer
RBC is advertising up to 100,000 Avion points and a first-year fee waiver on the Avion Visa Infinite Business, verified on October 13, 2026, for applications received between August 25 and November 30, 2026. You get 25,000 points on approval and 20,000 after a first purchase in the first 3 months. Spending $5,000 in the first 3 months adds 20,000, and $15,000 in the first 6 months adds 35,000.
The two spend targets are not cumulative, so missing the 3-month target does not block the 6-month one. Only the primary business owner's own purchases and pre-authorized bill payments count toward them, and only that owner gets the points and the fee waiver. RBC values the package at up to $2,175: the $175 waiver plus the $2,000 maximum ticket that 100,000 points books on its Air Travel Redemption Schedule.
Put recurring business bills on the card as pre-authorized payments from day one: they count toward the $15,000 target, but only when they are charged to the primary owner's card. Employee spending does not count toward the bonus, so route it through your own card for the first 6 months if the target is tight.
Fees & eligibility
The card costs $175 a year, waived for the first year for the primary business owner under the current offer (applications by November 30, 2026). Additional cards are $75 each, up to 9, and the waiver does not cover them.
To qualify you need just one of these: a personal income of $60,000, a household income of $100,000, business sales revenue of $500,000, $250,000 in assets under management, or $30,000 in current annual credit card spending. If you meet none, RBC may consider you for the Avion Visa Business instead. Purchases carry a 19.99% interest rate and cash advances 22.99%, and RBC treats balance transfers as cash advances. No foreign transaction fee waiver is listed.
Earning rewards
Every net purchase earns 1.25 Avion points per dollar until the card has charged $75,000 in an annual period, then 1 point per dollar with no limit. The period follows your January to December statements (a new card starts the day it is issued), and it resets each January.
There are no categories to manage, which suits a business with mixed spending. Points from all employee cards can be pooled into one business owner's account and combined with that owner's personal Avion card, and a Petro-Canada link adds 20% more Avion points and 3 cents per litre off at the pump.
Redeeming rewards
The best use of the points on this card is premium cabins: business and first class flights booked through Avion Rewards Travel cost 100 points per $2, or 2 cents per point (cpp), with taxes and fees payable in points at the same rate. RBC's personal Avion Visa Infinite does not get this rate. Other travel through Avion Rewards is 1 cpp.
The Air Travel Redemption Schedule prices round trips in fixed points with a maximum ticket price, and RBC uses it to value 100,000 points at up to a $2,000 long-haul ticket. Airline transfers also work: British Airways Avios and Asia Miles at 1:1, AAdvantage at 10 points to 7 miles, and WestJet points at 1:1.
Perks & benefits
The business tools are the practical perks. Visa Spend Clarity for Business gives you expense reports, transaction data and per-employee spending controls and limits, and a receipt app captures paper receipts by photo. Points pooling gathers every employee card's points into one account, and the Visa Infinite Business concierge and Visa Infinite hotel and dining programs come with the card.
Read the lounge line carefully. The page advertises access to 1,300+ airport lounges through Visa Airport Companion, but each visit costs US$32 per person, so there are no free visits. Smaller extras include Petro-Canada savings, Hertz discounts and 12 months of DashPass. There is no foreign transaction fee waiver.
Insurance
The insurance is a full travel package. Emergency medical is unlimited for the first 15 days of a trip if you are under 65, and the first 3 days at 65 or older, covering your spouse and dependent children too; pre-existing conditions must be stable for 90 days before you leave (180 days at 75 and older). Trip cancellation pays up to $1,500 per person ($5,000 per trip) and trip interruption up to $5,000 per person ($25,000).
Mobile devices bought with the card are covered up to $2,000 per claim for 2 years, starting 91 days after purchase. Rentals get collision and loss damage cover for up to 48 days on vehicles with an MSRP up to $65,000, and business purchases are protected for 90 days with warranties extended by up to 1 year. The 3-day medical limit at 65 is short, so older owners should plan on top-up coverage.
My take
I'd get this card if your business puts $15,000 or more on plastic in six months and you like flying in the front; I'd skip it if you spend heavily abroad or past $75,000 a year.
For a business owner who wants Avion points, this is the stronger of RBC's two business Avion cards. The 1.25x rate on everything beats the 1x on the Avion Visa Business, the current offer pays up to 100,000 points with the fee waived in year one, and the 2 cpp premium-cabin rate gives the points a clear best use.
I'd still go in with eyes open. The bonus needs the primary owner's own $15,000 in six months, the lounge access costs money each visit, and there is no FX waiver for business trips abroad. Above $75,000 a year the earn drops to 1x, so a big spender may do better with a card that keeps a higher rate.
The good
- 1.25x on every purchase up to $75,000 a year
- Business and first class flights at 2 cpp
- Up to 100,000 points and the fee waived in year one
The catch
- Earn drops to 1x after $75,000
- Lounge access is pay-per-visit
- No foreign transaction fee waiver
