This is the card I'd point a small business toward if it buys from suppliers in U.S. dollars or sends people abroad. There is no foreign transaction fee, the earn is a flat 1.5 Scene+ points per dollar on everything, and the 6 lounge visits a year cover a couple of trips for a small team.
What I'd weigh is the fee and the offer. At $199, with no first-year waiver unless you are a physician, dentist, or a lawyer or accountant on a Scotia Professional Plan, it is $49 more than the personal Passport Visa Infinite +, and the welcome bonus is worth about $400. The value here is ongoing, not up front.
Welcome offer
Scotiabank is advertising up to 40,000 bonus Scene+ points for accounts opened between May 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026, verified on the Scotiabank page on October 13, 2026. You earn 30,000 points for $5,000 in eligible business purchases in the first 3 months, and another 10,000 points for $60,000 in the first 12 months.
Scotia values those points at $300 and $100 in travel, so the full bonus is worth about $400. Its larger "up to $2,600 in value" headline adds a year of projected point earning, foreign fee savings and lounge visits. Anyone who was a primary or secondary cardholder on a Scotiabank business credit card in the past 2 years is not eligible, though personal Scotia cardholders are.
Treat this as a 30,000-point offer for $5,000 in three months; the extra 10,000 points need $60,000 in a year for $100 in travel. With the offer window closing on October 31, 2026, there is no reason to rush if your business would not use the card's ongoing perks.
Fees & eligibility
The card runs $199 a year. The first additional card (a secondary cardmember or co-borrower) is $0, and each card after that is $50. Physicians and dentists get the first-year fee waived, as do lawyers and accountants with the Scotia Professional Plan or Plan Lite; there is no general first-year waiver. The minimum credit limit is $10,000.
You qualify by declaring any one of: $500,000 in business annual sales revenue, $60,000 in personal income, $100,000 household income, $30,000 in annual card spend, or $250,000 in assets under management. Purchases carry a 20.99% interest rate and cash advances and balance transfers 22.99%, rising to 25.99% and 27.99% after two missed payments in 12 months. There is no foreign transaction fee, and the primary borrower and any co-borrower are liable for all charges on the account, including supplementary cards.
Earning rewards
Earning is as flat as it gets: 1.5 Scene+ points per dollar on every eligible business purchase, with no categories and no cap. At Scotia's travel value of 1 cent per point (cpp), that is about 1.5% back.
The one boost is Scene+ Travel (powered by Expedia), where hotel and car rental bookings paid with the card or points earn 3 points per dollar. Purchases on supplementary cards earn for the primary cardholder. Compared with the personal Passport Visa Infinite +, which earns up to 3x on groceries and 2x on dining, entertainment and transit, the business card trades categories for a higher flat rate.
Redeeming rewards
Scene+ points are worth 1 cpp on travel. Apply Points to Travel lets you book with any airline, hotel or agency on the card and then cover the charge with points within 12 months, in blocks of at least 5,000 points. Scene+ Travel lets you redeem in full or in part on flights, hotels and car rentals.
Points also go toward account credits, gift cards from more than 60 brands, merchandise and the rest of the Scene+ catalogue. There are no airline or hotel transfer partners, so 1 cpp is the ceiling. Points can be moved between the primary, co-borrower and supplementary cardholders' Scene+ accounts by contacting Scene+.
Perks & benefits
The headline perk is no foreign transaction fee: purchases in a foreign currency are converted at the exchange rate with no 2.5% mark-up. The card also includes a Visa Airport Companion membership with 6 complimentary lounge visits a membership year at 1,200+ lounges; any cardholder and guests can use them, but the primary cardholder must be present, and each person counts as a visit.
You also get a complimentary Avis Preferred Plus membership, Visa Infinite Concierge and hotel and dining programs, Shell fuel discounts with a linked Shell Go+ account, and the Visa Spend Clarity for Business expense tool and Visa SavingsEdge discounts. There is no mobile device insurance.
Insurance
The insurance is a full travel suite underwritten by Manulife and FNAIC. Emergency medical pays up to $1 million per person for the first 25 days of a trip under 65 and 10 days at 65 or older, for you, your spouse and dependent children, without the trip being charged to the card. Trip cancellation and trip interruption each pay up to $2,500 per person and $10,000 per trip when at least 75% of the trip is charged to the card or paid with points.
Rentals get primary collision and loss damage coverage for up to 48 days on cars valued up to $65,000. Flight delays of 4 hours or more pay up to $500 per person, delayed and lost luggage up to $1,000 per trip each, hotel burglary in Canada and the U.S. up to $1,000, and purchases are covered for 90 days with warranties doubled up to one extra year. The medical limit is half the personal Passport Visa Infinite + ($2 million), and employees are not named as insured persons.
My take
I'd get this card for a business that pays foreign suppliers or travels abroad and spends evenly across categories; I'd skip it if most of your spend is domestic and you want a big welcome bonus.
A flat 1.5% back with no foreign transaction fee is a clean combination for business spending in other currencies, where most cards add 2.5%. On $20,000 a year of foreign purchases that fee waiver alone is worth $500, more than double the $199 fee, before counting lounge visits and the insurance.
The weak spots are the welcome bonus, worth about $400, and the lack of any first-year waiver for most applicants. If your business rarely spends outside Canada, I'd look at a card with higher category rates instead; this one earns its fee on foreign currency and travel.
The good
- No foreign transaction fee
- Flat 1.5 points per dollar on all business spend
- 6 lounge visits and a full travel insurance suite
The catch
- $199 with no general first-year waiver
- Welcome bonus worth about $400 and ends October 31, 2026
- Points capped at 1 cpp with no transfer partners
