This is the TD business card I'd point to when the spending is spread across meals, subscriptions, transit and bills rather than flights on one airline. Six points per dollar on dining, recurring bills, streaming, EV charging, transit and foreign currency purchases is a wide net, and 9x on Expedia For TD bookings rewards the business trips themselves.
The catch is the currency. TD Rewards Points are worth 0.5 cents each at Expedia For TD, so 6x is really 3% back and 2x is 1%. That is still a good return on a $149 card that is free in year one for you and four employees, but there are no lounge visits, and TD is flagging changes to the card without saying what they are.
Welcome offer
TD is advertising up to 200,000 TD Rewards Points on the Business Travel Visa, effective September 1, 2026 and verified on October 13, 2026. You earn 30,000 for a first purchase, 120,000 for $15,000 in purchases within 180 days, 30,000 for $25,000 within 365 days, and a final 20,000 for any purchase posted in the 15th monthly billing cycle. The first-year fee rebate covers you and the first four additional cards added while the offer runs.
TD puts the 200,000 points at $1,000 of travel booked through Expedia For TD, and its larger $1,300 headline adds the fee rebates. Only the Individual Borrower earns the points. No end date is printed, so confirm the current offer on the issuer's page before applying.
The 120,000-point tier does most of the work, so plan for $15,000 in the first 180 days. The month-15 bonus is easy to miss: set a reminder to make one purchase that posts in that billing cycle.
Fees & eligibility
The card costs $149 a year, and additional cards are $49 each. Under the current offer, TD rebates the first-year fee for you and up to four additional cards added while the offer is in effect, within two statements of the charge. Full fees apply from year two.
TD lists no income or revenue minimum: you must be a Canadian resident of the age of majority. The business and its owners are jointly and severally liable for all charges on each TD business card account. Purchases carry a 19.99% interest rate and cash advances 22.99%. The foreign transaction fee is not printed on the product page.
Earning rewards
Travel booked online through Expedia For TD earns 9 TD Rewards Points per dollar (6 when booked by phone). Five categories earn 6 points per dollar: dining, EV charging, public transit, recurring pre-authorized bills together with streaming, digital gaming and media, and purchases made in a foreign currency.
Each 6x category stops at $80,000 in net annual spending, then earns the standard rate. Everything else earns 2 points per dollar. At TD's Expedia For TD value of 0.5 cpp, that works out to 4.5%, 3% and 1% back.
Redeeming rewards
The clearest value is travel through Expedia For TD, where 200 points = $1, or 0.5 cents per point (cpp), redeemed in 200-point steps at the time of booking for all or part of a trip. That is the rate TD uses to value the welcome bonus at $1,000.
Points also pay off past purchases on the card, buy items through Amazon.ca Shop with Points, or go toward the card balance through EasyWeb or the TD app. The product page does not give the value for those options, so compare before redeeming outside Expedia For TD.
Perks & benefits
This is an earning card first, and the perks are thin. The best one is cost control: the first-year rebate for five cards (yours plus four employees), and $49 employee cards after that. Avis and Budget discounts of at least 10% in Canada and the U.S. (5% internationally) help on business rentals, and Visa SavingsEdge adds cashback offers on business expenses.
There is no lounge access, no airline benefit and no published foreign transaction fee waiver. TD's personal First Class Travel Visa Infinite costs $139 and includes 4 complimentary lounge visits, so a sole proprietor who travels for leisure as much as business may want to compare the two.
Insurance
Travel medical pays up to $2 million per person for the first 15 days of a trip under 65, but only 4 days at 65 or older, with a 90-day stability rule for pre-existing conditions (180 days at 65 and older). Trip cancellation pays up to $1,500 per person ($5,000 per trip) and trip interruption up to $5,000 per person ($25,000).
Flight delays of 4 hours pay up to $500, delayed or lost bags up to $1,000 per person, and rentals get collision and loss damage cover for up to 48 days on vehicles with an MSRP up to $65,000. Purchases are protected for 90 days with warranties extended by up to 1 year ($60,000 lifetime). There is no mobile device or hotel burglary coverage.
My take
I'd get this card if your business spends across dining, bills, subscriptions and foreign currency and books travel through Expedia; I'd skip it if you want lounge access or airline perks.
The earn rates are the reason to have it. Paying 6x on recurring bills and foreign currency purchases covers spending most businesses already have, and at Expedia For TD's 0.5 cpp that is 3% back. The welcome offer adds $1,000 of Expedia travel for $25,000 in a year, and the first year is free for you and four employees.
I'd hold back on two counts. The points are worth the most only at Expedia For TD, and TD's banner says changes are coming without a working link to explain them, so I would check the terms again before applying. If those changes cut the 6x categories, the case weakens quickly.
The good
- 6x on dining, transit, EV, recurring bills and foreign currency
- Up to 200,000 points, worth $1,000 at Expedia For TD
- First-year fee rebate for you and four employee cards
The catch
- Points worth 0.5 cpp at best
- No lounge access or airline perks
- TD flags upcoming changes without details
