This is TD's low-interest card for small businesses, and its pitch is a choice of fixed rates: 11.99% on purchases and cash advances with no annual fee, or 8.99% if you pay $49 a year. I'd point a business owner here when the card balance actually rolls from month to month, for example to bridge slow-paying invoices or spread out an equipment purchase.
The trade-off is that it gives nothing back: no points, no cash back and no welcome offer. If your business pays the card off in full every month, the low rate never comes into play, and an earning card such as TD's no-fee Business Cash Back Visa is the better fit.
Welcome offer
TD's product page showed no welcome offer for this card when it was checked on October 15, 2026: no intro rate, no balance transfer promotion and no fee rebate. On a card whose job is a low ongoing rate, that matters less than it would on a rewards card, but confirm the current offer on TD's page before you apply.
The same page carries a banner saying changes are coming to the TD Business Select Rate Visa Card. Its Learn more link led to TD's not-found page, so what is changing, and when, is not known yet.
With no offer to time, the decision is which rate plan to take. If the announced changes could affect the rate or fee, check TD's page or call TD at 1-800-680-5767 before applying.
Fees & eligibility
The card has a $0 annual fee, and additional cards are also $0. You can opt instead to pay a $49 annual fee, which lowers the interest rate. TD prints no income or revenue minimum: you must be a Canadian resident of the age of majority in your province or territory. The business and its owners are jointly and severally liable for all charges on each TD business card account.
With no fee, purchases and cash advances both carry a fixed 11.99%; with the $49 fee, both drop to 8.99%. TD treats balance transfers as cash advances, so they accrue interest at the cash advance rate from the day of the transfer. New purchases get a 21-day interest-free grace period when you pay the statement balance in full; cash advances are charged interest right away. Rates are current as of April 30, 2025, per the page, and the foreign transaction fee is not printed.
The $49 plan saves $3 a year for every $100 of balance carried, so it pays for itself once the average balance is above roughly $1,630. Below that, the no-fee plan costs less.
Perks & benefits
The headline perk is the rate itself: a fixed 11.99% or 8.99%, applied the same way to purchases and cash advances, where most cards charge more for cash. For a business, the TD Card Management Tool adds online reporting, expense review, credit limit management and spend controls across employee cards, and an emergency cash advance of up to $5,000 is available, subject to your credit limit.
You can also link the card to Visa SavingsEdge for free and get cashback offers on business expenses as statement credits, save at least 10% off base rates at participating Avis and Budget locations in Canada and the U.S. (at least 5% internationally), and earn more Starbucks Stars at participating stores. There is no lounge access, no travel credit and no travel medical cover; TD sells travel medical, trip cancellation and TD Business Credit Protection separately.
Insurance
The card includes Auto Rental Collision/Loss Damage Insurance for rentals of up to 48 consecutive days, on vehicles with an MSRP of up to $65,000. Charge the full rental to the card and decline the agency's collision damage waiver; vans, pickup trucks, off-road vehicles, motorcycles and exotic or antique cars are excluded, and it does not cover liability or injury.
Purchases are covered by Purchase Security against theft or damage for 90 days, and Extended Warranty Protection adds the manufacturer's warranty length or 1 year, whichever is less. Both share a $60,000 lifetime limit per account holder across all TD credit cards and pay after any other insurance. There is no emergency medical, trip cancellation, delay or baggage cover.
My take
I'd get this card if your business carries a balance or needs cash advances and you want a fixed rate under 12%; if the business pays in full every month, I'd skip it for a card that earns something.
The appeal is a low rate with no strings: 11.99% on purchases and on cash advances, against 19.99% and 22.99% on TD's Business Cash Back Visa. Both plans undercut the 12.90% on TD's personal Low Rate Visa, and the optional $49 plan at 8.99% is worth paying once the average balance is above about $1,630. Rental car cover is a useful extra for a no-fee card.
The downsides: no rewards, no welcome offer and no balance transfer promotion, since TD treats transfers as cash advances at the regular rate. The page also announces changes to the card without saying what they are, so I'd check before applying.
The good
- Fixed 11.99% on purchases and cash advances with no annual fee
- Optional 8.99% rate for $49 a year
- Rental car collision cover and free additional cards
The catch
- No rewards of any kind
- No welcome offer or balance transfer promotion
- Announced changes to the card are not explained yet
